Every purchase swaps directly between your own wallet and Jupiter's DEX aggregator on Solana — the gold token lands in your wallet, not ours. Zahab takes a disclosed 0.5% fee automatically in the same transaction, built into the buy/sell price you see rather than itemized — see the Fees page for the exact schedule.

The gold behind PAXG, the token Zahab swaps you into, is held by Paxos Trust Company, NA — a US trust company regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Zahab is not a custodian and never touches the underlying gold.

The gold is held in LBMA-accredited vaults in London, segregated on Paxos's books for the exclusive benefit of PAXG holders — it isn't commingled with Paxos's own assets. Paxos states its vault provider insures the gold against loss, both in the vault and in transit.

Each PAXG token is backed 1:1 by real, London Good Delivery gold — one troy ounce per token, which is why the grams shown throughout Zahab are simply your PAXG balance × 31.1035. Reserves are attested every month by KPMG LLP, an independent accounting firm, under AICPA attestation standards.

Zahab only ever swaps into one Solana token address: 5GgRAEmv8ZxF2PR5hY72Qs5x1bnQ6UK2RbTPoqJ3wSwW — the same mint Jupiter lists as "Verified." You can check this address against what shows up in your own wallet after a purchase.

Physical redemption — turning your PAXG into an actual gold bar delivered to you — is a feature we're actively working on. It's currently in trial phase and not yet available to everyone in the app. For everyday holdings today, the practical way to exit is selling your PAXG back to stablecoin instantly at the live sell price — the same Sell flow already in Zahab.
